Taos Indian Trading Co. was
established in 1978 and has been located on Santa Monica Boulevard
in the heart of downtown Santa Monica for over 20 years.
Today, visitors
from all over the world seek out Taos Indian Trading Co. for unique,
quality jewelry, pottery, sculpture, rugs, fetish carvings, contemporary
paintings and prints, Kachinas, masks, beadwork, concho belts, and
a variety of other artifacts representing 57 tribes. In particular,
we are pleased to offer many authentic works by Southwest Plains,
and Northwest Coast tribe artists and many items are one of a kind.
We enjoy close relations with the artists we represent, and we have
worked together with many of them for decades. Every few months
we go to the Southwest to buy directly from the artists at their
homes on the reservation.
We also provide
services in jewelry repair, custom gold and silversmithing, as well
as assistance in helping Native American art collectors find the
items they are looking for. Our services also include written appraisals
and certificates of authenticity. Todd Swift of Taos Indian Trading
Co. has provided artifacts and jewelry, or designed custom jewelry
for movies such as "Contact" with Jodie Foster, Aliens
with Sigorney Weaver, Windtalkers, Lonesome Dove, Return to Lonesome
Dove, Brave, and Get Shorty.
